Happiest 2009 EVER

2009 was a very good year at our house! It was a year full of smiles, laughs, and surprises. I will be sad to see it go, but know 2010 will be twice as interesting...

May your 2010 be one of great joy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Snow Fun

It snowed...a lot. Being the World's Best Mommy, I decided some fun in the snow was required. So I bought a sled, I bought a snow suit, and Grandma bought snow boots. He loved the sled...while it was in the toasty warm living room.

The snow was a different story.
He was a bit unsure, but seemed okay as long as you kept him moving.
Remember the worlds best Mommy? Yeah, she threw a snowball at him. Isn't that fun?!
His tear and look of utter hurt begs to differ.
The rest of the ride was ruined.
Good times.

Merry Christmas

Not Naughty, Just Curious

Luke has completely ignored all things Christmas at our house. It's as though the tree has always been there. Not one ornament displaced. Not one package tampered with. Until Auntie Amy and Uncle Paul's gifts arrived. And how he knew the package he was opening was his, is beyond me! Perhaps he knows they give the best gifts- like his caterpillar and his beloved monkey. I can't blame him for not wanting to wait to see what his new favorite toy will be!

Luke's BFF

This is Ham Ham-Luke's BFF. We found this little Zhu Zhu knock off at Cracker Barrel and Luke HAD to have it. They are inseperable most of the time, until a Hot Wheels crosses his path, then it's all, "Ham Ham who?".

But during their time together, it's all love. There are hugs and nuzzles and kisses for Ham Ham.
At least there is no actual poop involved in this pet.

Naughty

Luke is an independent boy. He would rather play alone in his room than have his mom hanging around with him. I usually don't worry too much about it, there isn't really anything he can hurt in his room. Until the other day, that is, when I heard a new sound. A metal banging sound, followed by giddy laughter. So like any good mother, I grabbed my camera on my way to investigate the matter. This is what I saw. (apologies for the picture quality, no time to adjust ISO and f-stop)
While you can't see much, you can see he is pleased as punch with himself! So on to the better picture...
You'll notice a gray crumpled mess on the floor, which would be his curtains as well as a tension rod! Naughty. But you can tell by his grin, he thinks he's the Bees Knees!

Santa knows, Luker. Santa always knows.

He's so excited!

There is something about this push toy that brings absolute joy to this little man.
I don't know what it is,
but I love it!

(He gets his bedhead from me)

With just a little practice

and a little distraction by snackies, Luke is starting to tolerate hats!

Reason #28 to have children

Free manual labor! Luke loves to push the broom around. Fine by me! Learn 'em early.

Good form, no?
See, he's enjoying himself!
Now if he would only enjoy cleaning all his smudgey paw prints off the fridge...

Reason #529 for Luke's future therapy

Luke got a new hat. I love it! It's adorable. He may have had a slightly different reaction to the hat.

He never tried to take it off, he just screamed. A lot.Such a sad face. We'll see how much he hates it when we go to the store with the -8 degree wind chill.

Randomness

It's been a while since I last updated the blog. My little gummi bear is making me tired, so I will just do a quick recap! In no particular order:

Luke had a great time playing with his dad, as usual.

We enjoyed a nice fire on a cold night.

Time to bust out the Baby Legs!

We had a lengthy smile practice session for Santa pictures.
Some were good.

Some were...different.
Some were a bit scary.
And then scarier.

We went to a super fun park in Wichita. I think Grandma Barb and Alex had more fun than anyone else.

Contrary to this picture, Luke had a good time. I think we spun him a bit too much.

We found this little gem while running errands yesterday. I hope one day my house will be this glorious and festive! Somehow, I don't think it ever will be.
