An important message from Luke

I thought I would revisit this little post from a year ago...it was titled
"Why Luke Will Be an Only Child".When we found out we were pregnant, it occurred to us that we didn't have one living thing in our home. No pets. No plants. So in an attempt to convince ourselves that we could sustain a living thing before our child was born, we headed to Home Depot and bought two plants. We watered them. We put them in sunlight. We guarded them from the elements. They flourished. Then Luke was born. The plants were cast aside to the corner of the dining room to make room for Luke's gym and bouncy seat. I did not even notice the plants were no longer around. It wasn't until today when I was cleaning the dining room that I saw their carcasses. They've not seen water or light in 2 months. So while it is quite clear that we can take care of Luke, it is obvious we can't take care of more than Luke. No, dear friends, there will be no more. We would hate to risk having another child and two months later finding Luke in the corner. I think I will keep them where they are as a reminder to myself, should "baby fever" strike again. Plus, when people try to convince us to have another, I can just point to the dried up mound in the corner.

My how things change...

Sweet Luker, I promise to periodically check the corners for you.

More Disney (Geez, I know)

6 days in Disney= more pictures than you want to know.

Luke loved playing in the fountains at the pool. I think he'll be ready for Crown Center next summer!
Chillin' with Uncle Bryce
Alex and I decided not to take Luke on the teacups so that we could go fast. Yeah, we're good parents. And boy did we go fast! "I need an old priest and a young priest!"
The brood at the Brewhaus for a German Buffet
Love on a train. You know he's tired when he puts his feet up.
This was the first time in a fountain, he grew to love them. Fantastic hair!
Alex was as enthralled with It's a Small World as Luke was.

Piercen was not as enthralled. He was a good sport to ride it with us!

Disney

Luke had the best time ever in Disney World. I think we had more fun watching his "this is the coolest thing I have ever seen in my life" expression every time he saw something new.
He had a good time hanging out with Nemo. I think that is where he learned to speak Whale.
Luke met Bruce
This was the first time he laid eyes on the REAL Mickey- so sweet!

Luke was eyeing Minnie. And then he made his move!

Then we hung out in the 100 Acre Woods
He was shocked and awed to meet Buzz!
Alex and I found a nice photo op in the Himalountains
Luke was amazed with It's A Small World
My little Swashbuckler!
Do you think he was excited?
Diggin' the Ears!
Stealin' some Honey-Tut Tut, looks like rain!

Anatomy of a Haircut

When you get off the plane looking like this, a vacation haircut is a must!

Step 1: Find a respectable establishment.
Step 2: Find a comfy place to set.
Step 3: Find a lovely lady to distract you with stickers.
and toys that light up and spin!
Step 4: Pay no attention to what's going on with your head, just keep playing with your stickers.
Step 5: Occasionally acknowledge the lovely lady cutting your hair.
It never hurts to flirt a bit as well.
Step 6: Be gracious when said lovely lady pinches your cheek-it's impossible to resist.

Step 7: Get a fabulous new hat!..that you only wear long enough for one picture before ripping it off your freshly coiffed hair.
And as always, be adorable.

Pool Party

We were in Wichita last week for a birthday pool party. It took all summer, but Luke is finally getting used to the pool! The "tongue look" is becoming increasingly more common. I'm sure it's fine.

Okay, I finally see the resemblance to Alex. He still has my nose!
