Chez Giraffe

I've been a bit under the weather lately so laundry has not been a top priority at our house. That explains why Luke got to sleep in this adorable giraffe outfit/costume, I don't know what it is. Gotta love the tail. He didn't seem to notice, or did not appear embarassed by wearing this. I mean, he was only going to bed, right? Of course, he did have to whip up a little something for a bedtime snack in his new kitchen first.

And now Alex and I finally know what sound a giraffe makes...at 5:40 a.m. Thanks buddy.

Day 2 of the nap boycott

Luke got about a 10 minute nap before the hammering on the house resumed. This is what resulted when I refused to let him into the bathroom to play with the toilet paper.(insert bouncing up and down and a high pitch scream)

Ah, I love him.

I am apparently the meanest Mommy ever because he felt the need to follow me down the hall into the living room to continue telling me how displeased he was with my decision to block the beloved toilet paper.

A day without a nap

Since we are having the exterior of the house painted, our day has been filled with lots of hammers banging on the walls and scrapers scraping. All these noises make naps impossible for this little boy who was so tired he had to rest his head on the coffee table to watch Days of our Lives today...so sad.He would periodically collapse wherever he was playing.

Unfortunately, these collapses are short, like 5 seconds and then he's back to trying to play.

He's such a sweet boy and I feel so awful because I know how tired he is (Momma didn't get her nap either) and he acts like he's coming down with a cold. Hope tomorrow will be better!

Gummi Bear

Here is our little Gummi Bear. We have a very squirmy little baby with a strong fast heartbeat! The official due date is May 9th.

Birthday: Part One

We celebrated Luke's birthday with typical indulgence.

There were lots of cupcakes.

Lots of family.
Lots of friends.
Lots of gifts.
Lots of cake.
It took him a minute, but he finally dug in without provocation.
He devoured a quarter of the cake before I realized it and took it away. Mean Mommy!
On to Birthday Part 2 in Wichita.

Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate this special day with us! Everyone who came has been an important part of Luke's year and it meant so much for us to have you all here!
