1+1+1+1+1=CAKE!!!!

Due to the baby boom experience by my co-workers last year, Luke and a few of his friends got together to celebrate their first or soon to be first birthdays! These are only half of them!! We thought it would be a good time to get them cute little onesies, have them smother themselves in frosting and of course, take literally hundreds of pictures of these beauties. And boy did we!

Luke, Ainsley, Rebecca, Caroline & Cory
Luke and the Ladies
And what's a birthday party without cake?
According to Miss Ainsley, not much! It was a slow start.

Until Luke stuck his head in the cake...

And then his foot.
And instead of eating the cake, he ate the frosting off his foot, of course.
Yum.
But boy did he discover that he LOVES cake!

More fun with Cake

A quick photo session while we waited.Sweetness

Luke about to partake of a piece of wood as an appetizer.Miss Ains preferred her shoe to cake. Gotta watch that girlish figure.
Ah, Sweet Caroline!
Rebecca enjoyed her cake as well. She however did not feel the need to dip her head in it.

What's a monkey say?

Don't ask Luke that question. He will probably never know because I am teaching him animal noises and apparently my monkey is one that does not exist in any known environment. Still, he loves to laugh at my monkey noises and I love to laugh at him.

This is his favorite monkey.

These are the cutest monkey pj's I've ever seen
First thing this morning, he headed to his toy box and after sifting though many toys, guess what he found? (Seriously, how cute are these jammies?)

L-Is for the way you look at me!

We recently celebrated this gorgeous girl's 1st birthday.
It was a great opportunity to meet all the "will be in-laws".

Some might see this look as "Why are you petting my hair?" I choose to see it as an adoring, "You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen in a pink tutu!"

Luke! Stop staring!

Isn't she FABULOUS!?

Hard to believe she's already a year old! What's even harder to believe is that in 6 short weeks, my sweet baby boy will be ONE also! Oh how we love them...

Grandparents

We were lucky enough to have Alex's parents spend the weekend with us. We had a great time eating our way through the Ethnic Festival (who knew Serbia was so tasty?). But most of all, Luke had fun just hanging out with his Grandparents!

If one is good...

...two is better!

I love the 70's

It's been in the 70's. IN AUGUST! The weather has been so nice lately that we have actually enjoyed being outside. Okay, I have enjoyed being outside. Luke always loves it!
He's getting better and better at scaling the rock wall - great.

Such a boy! He will find every ant out there and watch it crawl all over. He hasn't gotten brave enough to touch it yet. I have no doubt that very soon, he will and it will end up in his mouth. Gross.
Some lovin' from Daddy

Look! I'm outside!

With the rain gone and it being slightly under 100 degrees out, I decided to venture outside so Luke could play. Surely, I deserve an award for that! He had a great time playing on his castle and I had a great time watching him.

This is his "I'm so excited I could explode!" look. It's something new he's trying out.

He also had a swingin' good time

Until this yawn ruined everything!
And this face appeared. Nap time!
And for those "Doubty McDoubters" out there, here is some photographic evidence that I was in fact the one outside with Luke!
