I thought I would revisit this little post from a year ago...it was titled
"Why Luke Will Be an Only Child".
When we found out we were pregnant, it occurred to us that we didn't have one living thing in our home. No pets. No plants. So in an attempt to convince ourselves that we could sustain a living thing before our child was born, we headed to Home Depot and bought two plants. We watered them. We put them in sunlight. We guarded them from the elements. They flourished. Then Luke was born. The plants were cast aside to the corner of the dining room to make room for Luke's gym and bouncy seat. I did not even notice the plants were no longer around. It wasn't until today when I was cleaning the dining room that I saw their carcasses. They've not seen water or light in 2 months. So while it is quite clear that we can take care of Luke, it is obvious we can't take care of more than Luke. No, dear friends, there will be no more. We would hate to risk having another child and two months later finding Luke in the corner. I think I will keep them where they are as a reminder to myself, should "baby fever" strike again. Plus, when people try to convince us to have another, I can just point to the dried up mound in the corner.

LOVE IT. Many many many congrats to you...Luke is such a doll, and will make a fantabulous big brother. I doubt he'll fancy the corners, much. :)
